About

I’m recently graduated from the University of Singapore with a Bachelors in Computer Engineering with first class honours. Really not the most interesting thing, but I’m glad to have met the most interesting people. Currently, I’m pursuing a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), and I intend to take a postgrad sometime either in Law & Business or an MBA specializing in Finance.

I especially delight in and enjoy extreme sports - kiteboarding, snowboarding, wakeboarding, rock climbing, scuba diving, skydiving, freeline (not inline) skating and mountain biking are but some of them. I do try to get in some racquet sports in my diet as and when I can - tennis is the usual today. Interesting fact: I used to train competitively for softball, pole vault, and wakeboarding! In fact, I actually won the Wakeboarding Singapore Open in the Novice Category once.

Other non-sports interests include design, layouts, photography, gourmet food, variety of hawker food, marketing and advertising, dancing (though i must admit i think i suck), abstract art, a good movie, play, or musical, and loud, live music (especially rock and electronica chillout)! I also especially enjoy world music!

I aspire to be an entrepreneur, to make changes that will impact society and people for the better. I consider myself technically savvy, and have a strong interest in marketing, economics, and finance. I’m currently working on bringing Silicon Valley culture to Singapore through Entrepreneur27 and really, really, want to retire early. Not too early, but early enough to see the rest of the world. :)

I also frequently dream of building companies, or supporting the building of companies through investing in them. I dream of becoming an investment banker, or a private equity investment manager, or a hedge fund manager.

Most importantly, my lifelong dream is to travel the world. Not just for a few weeks a year, but for a year or two at a time. To see the world as one and its peoples as citizens of the same planet. My limited travels thus far to the Americas (North and South) have made me realize that to stay in Singapore is akin to living in a well. I need to explore, to live, and to learn. I love national parks of the world - I want to see all of them! Standing amidst the mountains is a humbling experience, and so is looking across the chasm of a 3000 feet canyon - like that of the Cotahuasi and Colca canyons of Peru. I feel the land calling, the seas beckoning, and I must heed the call.
