NUS Rag ‘n’ Flag 09: Alumni Float a waste of money

Friday, July 31st, 2009

Rag n Flag used to be about collection of monies for charity. But what is it coming to?

With regard to the Alumni Float, sure, I understand what they’re trying to do - but at what cost? $200 x 70 alumni is a whopping (at least) $14,000 for a FLOAT!

Even if not, there’s no mention of where the excess money is going to. To charity, or to NUS?

I’m definitely not going to give a single cent to this. No do, NUS.

iPhone vulnerability exposed!

Friday, July 31st, 2009

I hope they come up with a fix ASAP - it’s quite a serious security flaw!

This vulnerability apparently works by potential hackers sending you a specially coded SMS that gives them control over your phone. You don’t even have to do anything - just receiving the SMS is sufficient!

So if you ever get an SMS in the next few months that consists of a single square character, TURN OFF YOUR PHONE IMMEDIATELY!

Inspiration for furniture - IKEA Hacks

Thursday, July 23rd, 2009

Came across this website recently thanks to one of Justin’s tweets.

People share their IKEA “creations” and hacks on furniture here, and come to think of it, it’s true. You CAN look at IKEA as a furniture “parts” store since they sell all the parts separately.

I’ll be keeping this one on my RSS. :)
