On October 14th, Apple released the new Macbook series, codenamed “Brick”, because they were fashioned out of a solid block of aluminum. Gorgeous little things.

Saturday, October 18th, 2008

Are you going to pay $0.99 for every song you want to convert to a ringtone? Or are you going to pay a one-time fee for a software to do it for you? Better still, how about just converting your current songs to a ringtone for FREE?

Global Security Asia 2007

Wednesday, March 28th, 2007

Just popped by the Global Security Asia 2007 tradeshow at the Singapore Expo on official business. Pretty small conference but man, you’ve gotta see the exciting stuff there!

Saw the SAR 21 (yes i know, old news) but it was my first time holding one. Pretty rugged exterior. There was also the entire assortment of glock pistols, all kinds of weaponry, body armour, etc. Ever heard of inflatable bulletproof vest? Way cool.

They also had all kinds of video surveillance technology, audio surveillance, underwater ones, and even unmanned vehicles. Not to mention the huge special ops, multi-terrain, multi-use logistical vehicles.

Ok, back to work. :(

Uninspiring Vista

Hilarious article from a Microsoft champion, who starting using M$’s products when I did… at MS-DOS 5.1. No, actually, I started at MS-DOS 3.22, but that’s another story.

Microsoft-bashing is so cliche…

Sunday, January 7th, 2007

But this guy, who makes his living out of Microsoft’s technologies and defends Microsoft religiously, does so anyway! How apt for a Microsoft that’s spiraling downwards…

Oh, it’s about Microsoft’s answer to Google’s Adwords, for the internet marketers reading my blog. $100 worth of free advertising! Check it out, use it, and get the hell away after that. :D

Windows is better than the Mac

Saturday, November 4th, 2006

… and other all-time great lies people tell themselves…

I had my neighbour, who’s a computer engineering major, come over to me and ask me if my mac had all sorts of problems and compatibility issues with stuff i’m generally doing… Not the first person to do so :)

It’s amazing how much people don’t know about the mac, and how because of that they fail to make an informed choice. Again, the simple thing to point out is that I know lots of people who converted from the PC to the Mac and are raving about it, but i only know one person who converted from the Mac to the PC (and that’s because of school applications) and she’s complaining about it! haha… Final score: Mac many many, PC 0.

Apple’s reliability report card

Wednesday, October 18th, 2006

PC users, you have to check these reliability reports out!

You can’t just look at the initial price when buying a laptop… Sometimes, you end up paying more anyway. Plus, the iBooks are really cheap now :)

Upgraded power

Sunday, September 10th, 2006

Yes, now it’s a Power2Book G4 that I have. With 2 x 1GB ram powering it, God, you have no idea how much I can run without any lag.

QuickSilver, 1 movie, 3 browsers (Firefox, Flock & Safari), IntelliJ IDEA Java IDE, Photoshop, Textmate, Transmit FTP, NetNewsWire (my RSS reader), Address book, iSync (for syncing data continuously between my phone, my computer and the www), Mail, Adium, Preview (for all my PDFs), Stickies (postit notes for the Mac), Excel, Word, VideoLAN (video player), SmartSVN (Development file synchronization), iPhoto and iTunes. All at one go. Beat that. :P

Cost me $370, but it was all worth it! Plus I’ll get a little back from the sale of my 2 x 512MB RAM pieces. It’s up for grabs! Anyone wants it? Drop me a comment.
