HomeSpace.sg for property listings!

Monday, September 10th, 2007

A friend of mine just launched HomeSpace.sg.It’s really promising!

HomeSpace.sg provides a powerful and intuitive graphical map interface that showcases not only properties listed for sale, but also amenities in the vicinity such as MRT stations, bus interchanges, schools and shopping centres. Home buyers are also able to streamline their searches according to their desired price range, property type, floor area and even number of rooms.

Unlike other online real estate search engines currently serving the Singapore market, HomeSpace.sg boasts a clean and uncluttered visual interface, ridding its website of unnecessary links, advertisements, news and information that are commonly found in other websites. It is the sole aim of The Real Group to provide home buyers with an easy-to-use “no-nonsense” platform to get their tasks done as quickly and easily as possible without any detractors.

HomeSpace.sg also features a Clientele Managerâ„¢ and Agent Portfolioâ„¢ features which cater to real estate agents. The Clientele Manager feature enables an agent to add, edit and view clientele and their property preferences online, empowering them to access their client information from any computer. Their Portfolio automatically synchronizes with their listings on HomeSpace and showcases their property portfolio on a personal professional webpage, dramatically reducing barriers for agents to go online.

I’d say go check it out… esp if you are a property agent!

And so it came to be that my MSN nickname got quoted in Singapore’s New Paper on 7th May.

Not the full thing, unfortunately, but good enough to make a point. Singaporeans have got to realize that talent is global and STOP condemning scholars for their apparent lack of gratitude in having an iron rice bowl in a scholarship.

Alternative blog for thoughts?

Saturday, December 2nd, 2006

I’ve been refraining from sharing thoughts about Web 2.0, entrepreneurship, business ideas, etc on this blog because I didn’t want it to stray from being my blog, a place where friends would come and read about what’s going on in my life.

Should I use another blog for those other thoughts?

Or should I just squeeze in everything under my own blog under, say, a different category?

What are the implications, you think, on the marketing message each option creates for both audiences?

Are you doing what you want, today?

A friend kindly reminded me of this wonderful speech given by Steve Jobs as the commencement address at Stanford University in June 2005.

You’ve got to find what you love… - Steve Jobs

He told three stories - one about connecting the dots in your live, one about loving and losing, and the last about death. What especially struck me was the third story about death.

If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you’ll most certainly be right.

Hope - that’s all I’ve got

Wednesday, September 20th, 2006

Sometimes, I feel like i’m trudging on miserably, heading towards the end of a road that seemingly doesn’t end. Searching for the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow in the middle of a drought. Aiming for an end that somehow, pathetically, doesn’t look like it’s anywhere near within sight.

How to get anything you want

Saturday, August 26th, 2006

One of the greatest lessons I’ve learnt about succeeding in anything was from a lady who had no business experience whatsoever. Today, I wonder if she learnt more from me, or vice versa.

She was organizing and preparing for an event the next day, but things weren’t going right. Stuff that had to be bought wasn’t bought, some rentals didn’t work out, and two of her volunteers didn’t turn up as they promised. She was going crazy, and you could see she was really, really overwhelmed. Things were looking pretty desperate, and I proposed we scale down the event requirements. She refused - it was her baby and she wanted it to go really well.

What’s free to an Entrepreneur?

Wednesday, August 23rd, 2006

I recently heard someone say:

Entrepreneurs don’t fail - they just run out of cash.

And indeed, that’s very true. Everything costs money - your website hosting, website design, namecards, stock photos, software. Even invoicing your customers cost money! But thank God for the Internet! With free resources abound, all you need is to know where to look.

Meebome - Web IM on your blog

Friday, August 4th, 2006

MeeboMe Web IM WidgetThis is late, but I’ve decided to write my complaints about it. MeeboMe is a web IM service that connects to MSN, Gtalk, AIM, ICQ, etc. What’s more exciting is that it’s released a widget that you can embed into your blog that allows anyone on your blog to chat with you via IM!

Bjorn Lee, a friend of mine, has it installed on his blog. However, I hate to use it because it’s just so unfriendly. Instead of creating a new account and letting visitors chat with you on the IM client that you already use, it forces you to log on to their website and use their web client. I must say that is irritating. Plus, the web client is sssssllloooowwwww.

So, too bad MeeboMe, I won’t be using your service anytime soon. :P

I must say it’s a really good attempt at producing viral marketing for their web IM service, though. Entrepreneurs, look and learn!

Funniest corporate domains ever!

Thursday, August 3rd, 2006

As we all go about our Web 2.0 entrepreneurship, it’s critical to choose a domain name for ourselves. One thing I can’t emphasize enough is to check really hard (use your eyes!) to see if your domain name looks or sounds weird…

Else they may look like this list of domains I found somewhere on the net:
